Here are some things to know before you go. The best time to visit Callahan State Park is from April through October. The park is open year-round, but the trails can be icy in winter. There are two main parking areas at Callahan State Park: the Charles River Lot and the Pond Lot. Both parking areas have handicap-accessible spaces. There are over ten miles of hiking trails at Callahan State Park. The trails range from easy to difficult, so there is something for everyone.
